Buyers At Pinnacle’s Siena Community In Montclair Lured By Abundance Of Public Institutions

MONTCLAIR, NJ, June 19, 2006 — Condominium buyers looking for a community offering a wealth of well-established and highly regarded public institutions, are finding all that and more at Pinnacle Companies’ Siena at Montclair, located in this vibrant town just 12 miles west of Manhattan.

Since opening for sales only a few months ago, The Siena is already one-third sold out, said Mary Boorman, Pinnacle’s Senior Vice President for Marketing and Strategic Planning.
While many are familiar with Montclair’s trendy downtown, with its eclectic mix of boutiques, galleries, movie theaters, and restaurants, less well-known is the community’s strong underpinning of public and private institutions, which reflect all realms of human endeavor, including cultural, religious, educational, and recreational.
Montclair is home to the distinguished Montclair Art Museum, a YMCA and a YWCA, two public libraries, two professional theaters, three municipal town swimming pools, a municipal skating rink, a minor league baseball stadium, and several outstanding public gardens, including the famous Presby Memorial Iris Garden.
In the educational realm, there is Montclair State University, the state’s second largest and fastest-growing, with its new Alexander Kasser Theater, as well as the township’s notable public school system whose magnet schools, each with a special focus such as science and math or the performing arts, has garnered national attention.
Also unusual is the number of churches and temples—nearly 60 for a community of 39,000, including churches and synagogues of every denomination, reflecting the enormous diversity in the Montclair community.
And for those who want easy access to Manhattan, Montclair, with six train stations, offers some of the state’s easiest commuting via NJ Transit’s Midtown Direct train service to Penn Station or to downtown Manhattan via the PATH from Hoboken. There is also bus service to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown.
“Few other New Jersey communities have such a broad range of public and private institutions to serve the needs of their residents,” Boorman said. “This abundance has long contributed to having made Montclair ‘the place to live’ and is a major attraction for Siena buyers.”
The Siena, which is being built by Pinnacle Downtown, a division of Chatham-based Pinnacle Companies, and Kohl Partners, is located in the heart of Montclair on the site of the former Hahnes department store at South Park and Church Streets.
The Siena will feature 101 condo units, including one, two, and three-bedroom homes. Many of the homes will also have dens, and for former suburbanites who are accustomed to a lot of space or for buyers with children, the developers are offering the option of converting two units into one larger unit.
The seven-floor luxury building will also feature 40,000 square feet of ground-level retail space, which will include a New York Sports Club.
Prices for the units, which range in size from 640 to 2,800 square feet, start at $349,000 and range up to $1.3 million. All of the homes will include features such as hardwood floors, granite countertops, European cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, and stone bathroom floors that are usually considered upgrades.
The building’s steel framework is now going up, with the completion scheduled for early summer of 2007.
The Siena sales office is located at the Georgian Inn, Unit M-2 at 37 North Mountain Ave. in Montclair. The sales office showcases the beautiful bathrooms and kitchens and is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Virtual video tours of the new development are available.
