MONTCLAIR, NJ, November 07, 2007 —Montclair residents should soon see shops opening up on the ground floor of The Siena, the mixed residential/retail complex that replaced the Hahne & Co. department store on Church Street.

A new Starbucks at The Siena is scheduled to open at the end of November, followed by New York Sports Club in mid-December, The Dry Cleaning Station on Dec. 31 and Woodhouse Day Spa at the end of January 2008, announced Pinnacle Downtown, the developer.

The Siena features 101 condominiums that range from one to three bedrooms.

Pinnacle representative Derek Brown stated that around 70 percent of the residences have been sold, and the first occupants are expected to move in before the New Year.

The condos range in price from $418,000 to $1.3 million, and in size from about 770 to 2,800 square feet.

The Hahne & Co. building, where the department store opened in 1951, was vacant for more than 10 years before municipal officials declared it part of a three-phase redevelopment plan in July 2003.

The construction of The Crescent Deck parking facility was part one of the project, The Siena represented part two and the third phase is a hotel, currently in its preliminary stages, that is to replace the Church Street parking lot.
